Eco ideas are promoted with our collective wisdom
Panasonic has maintained a commitment to contribute to society through business, based on the belief that “a company is a public entity of society.” We promote environmental initiatives that acknowledge our obligation to preserve the earth's resources and protect our natural surroundings. One of our main business priorities is to promote an environmentally responsible management style that maintains and nurtures the ecology of the planet.
Panasonic leads the way with “eco ideas”
On October 5, 2007 Panasonic announced the eco ideas strategy. The strategy was designed to assist Panasonic with achieving one of its twin business visions: “Coexistence with the global environment.”
Three key initiatives of eco ideas:
Eco ideas for products
We will produce energy-efficient products. Panasonic pledges to produce more products that are energy efficient. The wide spread use of products that are environmentally conscious will reduce household energy consumption and lead to a reduction in CO 2 emissions.
Eco ideas for manufacturing
We will reduce CO 2 emissions across all of our manufacturing sites. Panasonic is committed to reducing CO 2 emissions through improved productivity in all business activities including product planning, production, sales, and services. Panasonic aims to reduce total emissions to FY2001 levels by FY2011.
Eco ideas for everybody, everywhere
We will encourage the spread of environmental activities throughout the world. Targeting employees and the community, the eco ideas for everybody campaign is designed to raise environmental awareness and promote eco-friendly activities worldwide. It encourages everyone to adopt a more environmentally-conscious lifestyle.
